Shell Solar, Martin Bucher Project Development and CommerzLeasing und Immobilien are to build the world’s largest solar plant of 10 MWp (MegaWatts peak) near Pocking in Bavaria.
The solar plant will consist of approximately 62,500 solar modules and will deliver electricity to almost 3,300 households in
It will consist of six sub plants, each rated at 1.667 MWp, which will be linked in parallel to the E.On 20kV grid. The modules will be mounted on aluminium structures, with a total length of approximately 16.5 km.
Construction of the plant will begin in August, and it is expected to be completed in March 2006.
