High-temperature superconductive (HTS) materials manufacturer Zenergy Power has received a second commercial order for a full scale HTS induction heater.
The patented machine greatly reduces the electricity consumed during industrial heating processes used in the global metals industry.
The unit, based upon Zenergy’s proprietary HTS technology, was adapted and upgraded from the company’s standard industrial unit to be used for the large-scale, volume intensive industrial heating of a range of copper and copper alloy metal billets. The client, a global metals producer whose identity has not been disclosed, funded the design work carried out to complete this adaptation and upgrade. The client will now install the HTS induction heater at a newly commissioned industrial extrusion plant.
London-based Zenergy claims the HTS induction heater will significantly reduce heating times and give better temperature distribution, which should result in increased productivity levels.
