Balfour Beatty, the international engineering, construction and services group, has completed three acquisitions worth £9m in Sweden and the UK.
In Sweden, Balfour Beatty Rail purchased Carillion’s Swedish rail contracting company, which has experience in track work, electrification and power supply, and maintenance projects. In 2006, its sales were SEK 418m.
The former Carillion company will be merged with Balfour Beatty’s existing Swedish rail operations, along with the recently acquired SAAB Nordic rail signalling and communications business.
In the UK, Balfour Beatty Management has acquired the Middlesbrough-based NAP Partnership, a business that has annual sales of £6m and provides cost and contract consultancy and project management services in the north of England.
Balfour Beatty Infrastructure Services, the group’s road management and maintenance division, has also acquired Surrey-based Chris Britton Consultancy, which offers specialist services for pavement engineering, network management and asset management.
