Fujitsu Laboratories
has developed what it’s claiming is the world's first bendable colour ‘electronic paper’ display.
The display retains an image even when no power is applied to the device - and only a minimal amount of power is needed to change the image.
And the company says that the screen colour is unaffected when the screen is bent or compressed.
Fujitsu belives that the thin, flexible electronic paper would be ideal for displaying information or advertisements in public places, especially on curved surfaces.
It plans to commercialise the new display in 2006 after conducting marketing trials.
