Bloodhound team test fires hybrid rocket system

The Bloodhound SSC Project, which aims to break the land speed record with a top speed of Mach 1.4, has successfully conducted the first test of its hybrid rocket system.

Bloodhound’s rocket, which is 4m long, 45.7cm in diameter and 450kg in weight, generated 14,000lbs of thrust during its 10 second test firing.

Bloodhound’s engineers are now reviewing the data from the experiment to further develop the system.
