The American Department of Defense (DoD) has announced that
Boeingsubsidiary McDonnell Douglas has won a more than $41.3 million firm fixed-price contract for production of computers for US Navy aircraft.
The Type 3 Advanced Mission Computers (AMCs) will be integrated into F/A-18E/F Super Hornet and E/A-18G Lot 30 aircraft.
The contract covers 84 AMCs for forward fit, 22 for retrofit and 14 spares, plus two test stations for production line support.
The DoD expect the work to be completed in July 2008.
