ARE YOU AN UNDISCOVERED MENSA MEMBER?

Membership of Mensa, the High IQ Society, is open to anyone with an IQ score measured in the top two per cent of the population. With around 60 million people the UK should boast more than 1.2 million Mensans. However there are currently only 24,500 members listed.

Are you one of the undiscovered Mensa members in your area?

Chairman John Paines says: “Mensa celebrates its Diamond Anniversary in 2006. We are keen to invite as many eligible people as possible to join the society and help us mark this important milestone year.”

The society has arranged IQ test sessions for prospective members at venues throughout the British Isles. More information about IQ testing can be found on the Mensa website – www.mensa.org.uk - and anyone interested in taking the supervised IQ test should contact Helen Oliver on 01902 772771 or e-mail bookatest@mensa.org.uk to pre-book their place.

People booking a place at these sessions are invited to reserve a place for a friend to take the same test at no extra charge – two people for £15.

Mensa welcomes people from all walks of life, with the objective of enjoying each other’s company and participating in a range of social and cultural activities. The society’s aims are to identify and foster human intelligence for the benefit of humanity; to provide a stimulating intellectual and social environment for its members; and to encourage research into the nature, characteristics and uses of intelligence.

A wide programme of special events is planned to mark the society’s birthday, including the British Mensa Annual Gathering of members in Nottingham and a World Gathering in Florida.
