CAAS updates LORADS II

Thales has been awarded a €145m contract by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) to supply LORADS III, a new air traffic control system.

Under the terms of the contract, Thales will design, manufacture, supply, deliver, install, test and commission the EUROCAT air traffic management system on a turnkey basis.

Comprehensive full life support after commissioning, including operational maintenance and support services for hardware and software will be provided from Thales’ recently established Singapore Customer Support Centre, Changi.

The new system will replace the existing LORADS (long-range air defence system) II, which was supplied by Thales in 1995.
