Derby-based mixing solutions provider
has installed a bespoke 56in (142cm) High Efficiency Vortex (HEV) static mixer at one of the world’s largest gas processing plants in Abu Dhabi.
The HEV mixer has been specially commissioned by Fluor Corporation for Abu Dhabi Gas Industries (GASCO), which is managing the Habshan gas plant expansion project on behalf of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).
According to Chemineer, its HEV static mixer will add to this expansion by maximising the conversion of the plant’s turbulent energy during mixing by controlling vortex structures generated by the mixing elements.
The expansion of the Habshan complex will involve the installation of two sulphur recovery units, an acid gas enrichment unit and an increase in the capacity of the pressure-boosting units to feed the additional associated gas from the Bab oil field.
