Automechanika Birmingham, the UK’s largest automotive trade exhibition, has reported unprecedented visitor demand, as registration figures sit 112 percent higher amongst garage professionals than the same period before the event was last held in 2019.
Taking place from 6th-8th June 2023 at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, the event will be the first Automechanika held in the UK since 2019, with exciting brands exhibiting including Bilstein Group, Bosch, Brembo, Castrol, Delphi, HELLA, LIQUI MOLY, MANN & HUMMEL and ZF Aftermarket.
All visitor metrics for the event are currently surpassing figures set at the same point before the show was last held in the UK four years ago, with registrations from garages, autocentres, and MOT centres 112 percent higher, and 168 percent more bodyshop and collision repair professionals now registered ahead of this time in 2019.
The high registration figures ahead of Automechanika Birmingham 2023 complement reports that spending on hotels, events and hospitality is returning to pre-pandemic levels. Attendances at exhibitions have risen with more events returning to in-person settings over virtual environments.
The free event offers aftermarket professionals the opportunity to source the latest tools, technology and innovations, and network with the UK market to share challenges and insight.
Automechanika Birmingham is largely considered the most important event for the UK automotive industry, and the first event back on UK shores since 2019 comes at a vital time with so much disruption and change impacting the community.
Alex Jones, marketing director at event organiser Messe Frankfurt UK, said: “It’s fantastic to see such a large cohort of the automotive aftermarket embracing the opportunity to share knowledge and find solutions to the immediate challenges, and horizon gaze to maximise the opportunities for businesses in the future, by registering to attend Automechanika Birmingham so early in the year.
“The entire organising team is delighted to see such a strong take-up – these figures have surpassed our expectations. We’re looking forward to welcoming so many aftermarket professionals from across the garage and vehicle repair industry, plus automotive enthusiasts, to the NEC in Birmingham this June. With so much on offer it’s no wonder that the exhibitor line up is the strongest it’s been since launch and the visitor registrations are at record breaking levels.
“As reports grow of business owners and industry stakeholders returning to attending their industry conferences in-person, we’re delighted to see the trend repeating itself here, and benefitting from the opportunity to chat, network and learn in the company of aftermarket peers.”
Boosted by a refreshed Automotive Supply Chain Forum event held within Automechanika Birmingham, visitor registrations for supply chain stakeholders are almost 300 percent higher than expectations set by event team Messe Frankfurt UK.
Features at the show include a Workshop Training Hub delivering technical seminars on engine fault diagnostics, MOT, diesel, Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) and much more. There will also be a new Electric Vehicles (EV) Training Hub discussing EV and hybrid technology, and how to make the transition to EV repairs successfully. An overview on the wide array of features available at Automechanika Birmingham is available on the website here.
