recently announced the launch of its newest TFT LCD driver one chip solution, the MC2TA6201. Key applications for MagnaChip's latest offering include sub- display of mobile phones, MP3 players and other consumer electronic devices.
The MC2TA6201 chip size is 15mm2 and it has a 65K colour-display. The chip supports maximum resolution of 128RGBx128 and is available for gate lines ranging from 16 to 128 as well as for 96RGB and 64RGB.
This single chip solution integrates a Gate/Source drive and step-up oscillator all onto one chip, and runs at single power of 2.5 ~ 3.3V. The solution is also available for low voltage I/O at minimum 1.65V and consumes low power, especially in standby and eight colour mode. It supports various interfaces including 16/8bit 80MPU system and SPI, 16/6 bit RGB and VSYNC. The chip also supports video file and screen shifting function.
MagnaChip says the MC2TA6201can be applied to all TFT modules smaller than 1.5", and is used in the external screen of folder type mobile phones, or the main screen of simpler mobile products, as well as other smaller-size colour displays.
