Aker wins in Peru

Aker Kvaerner has been awarded a $11.5m contract by the Peru Copper Syndicate for technical services for basic engineering and additional test work for the Toromocho project.
The project is a copper-molybdenum open-pit mine with a plant capacity of 117,000t/d, located east of Lima, Peru. The duration of the basic engineering and test work is expected to last between 8 to 10 months.
The proposed Aker Kvaerner team includes those who worked on the recently completed definitive feasibility study. Engineering, procurement and construction management services are expected to run for 48 months.
‘This project is another example of what we can achieve with the competence of a globally integrated project team,’ said Jim Miller, president and USA country manager, Aker Kvaerner E&C US.
