Alloy analysis specialist Niton UK achieves 500th sale milestone

Niton UK, the Winchester-based specialist in portable alloy analysis and alloy sorting instruments, has celebrated the sale of its 500th unit. The model concerned was the XLt(TM) Alloy Analyser, the flagship of the company’s range.

Using x-ray fluorescence, this hand-held unit provides rapid, laboratory quality readouts of alloy composition. Its small size, ruggedness and ease of use enable it to be used in a wide range of demanding field applications.

"We are delighted to have reached this milestone," said Michael Sibbald, Niton UK’s sales and marketing director. "It is a reflection of all the hard work from everyone here at Niton UK, as well as our extremely innovative products."

Applications for the XLt, and its sister product the XLi, range from simple metal sorting through to sophisticated elemental soil analysis and decontamination control. The instruments are also ideal for checking RoHS and WEEE compliance, scrap metal recycling, lead paint analysis and precious metals analysis, and are rugged enough for use in mining and prospecting.

In addition to these x-ray fluorescence instruments, Niton UK also supplies the MiniSort II(TM) metal sorter. Using optical emission spectroscopy, this hand-held unit can be calibrated for metal sorting in a range of different base metals including ferrous, aluminium, copper, titanium and nickel.

Its point-and-shoot simplicity makes it easy to operate, while its rugged design means that it is ideal for the rapid sorting of scrap metal.
