Alstom signs power contracts

Alstom has signed two new power plant operation and maintenance contracts with Endesa with an approximate combined value of €170 million.

for the GT26-based San Roque 2 and Besós 3 gas-fired combined cycle power plants located in

and

, respectively.

The contracts have an approximate combined value of €170 million. Both plants had initial three-year operation and maintenance contracts in place, which expired in December 2005.

By December 2005, San Roque 2 and Besós 3 had accumulated more than 24,000 and 22,800 operating hours respectively, and the average reliability factor of both plants over the last three years has exceeded 98 per cent.

The new contracts cover operation and maintenance services over a period of 16 years from December 2005. Services include operation support and all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of the plants’ power trains, including gas and steam turbines, generators and control systems.
