Astrosyn launches ac powered stepper motor driver

A high performance driver for two- and four-phase hybrid stepper motors has been introduced by motion control specialists Astrosyn International Technology. New to the European market, the P305 is an innovative, compact unit that provides both power and driver functions from a simple ac supply.
With a high current rating of up to 8.75 A per phase, the full- and half-stepping unit is suitable for larger, higher powered applications such as for NEMA size 34 steppers in industrial machinery.
The bipolar PWM constant current driver measures only 200 x 72 x 130 mm and weighs 1600 g. Input voltage is 60 - 100V ac.
Its advanced design minimises noise and vibration, and includes an offline, full / half current setting function at standstill.
