Biffa, one of the UK’s leading waste management businesses, is using the expertise of Lorien Engineering Solutions to create a £3 million in-vessel composting facility in Etwall, Derbyshire. The new facility is expected to be fully operational by March 2007, with the capacity to process up to 24,000 tonnes of green and kitchen waste every year. Lorien is project managing the development, which will allow local authorities

to recover up to 20 per cent more household municipal waste.
