Bombardier on track with €368m order

(Italian Railways) has awarded

an order to supply an additional 150 E464 electric locomotives.

Valued at approximately €368m the deal is said to represent a landmark for Bombardier locomotives in Italy, having already received orders for 538 E464 locomotives, of which 350 are already in service.

With these additional E464 locomotives, Trenitalia will be operating one of the largest single vehicle-type fleets in Europe. This latest order is due for delivery between February 2008 and March 2010.

The locomotives will be manufactured in Vado Ligure. Propulsion equipment and carbodies will be supplied by Bombardier’s sites in Trápaga, Spain and Wroclaw, Poland.
