Clear signals from Madrid
Mintra has chosen an Alstom-led consortium for the supply and maintenance of rail signalling equipment in Madrid.

Mintra (Madrid Infraestructuras del Transporte), the public company responsible for transport infrastructure in
, has chosen an
-led consortium for the supply and maintenance of signalling equipment for
’s four new light rail lines.
The contract is worth around €56 million. Alstom will receive 50% of this amount.
Alstom will provide trackside and train-borne signalling equipment and will also be in charge of its maintenance for three years on all four lines.
The infrastructure projects for each of these 4 new light rail lines were launched in 2004 and construction will be finished in 2007. The new lines will connect
In August 2004, Alstom was awarded a contract worth €144,6 million for the supply of 70 CITADIS vehicles for this light rail network. They will be delivered during 2006 and 2007.
