DERITEND INDUSTRIES REGISTERS FURTHER GROWTH, WITH 30% EXPANSION AT PRE-FORMED WINDINGS DIVISION

In the current economic climate it has become commonplace to hear about companies cutting back and downsizing. One company to buck this trend is Sheffield- based Pre-Formed Windings, part of Deritend Industries, which has recently  completed  a 30% expansion of the production facilities at its Hackenthorpe site. This is providing an additional 1500ft2 of manufacturing space, enabling the company to meet ever increasing demand for its products, particularly from abroad.

Pre-Formed Windings is a specialist engineering company that manufactures a huge range of medium and high voltage windings for large electric motors and generators. In recent years the company has grown dramatically, now exporting over 45% of production. The new investment in production facilities allows this growth to continue, by improving the company's ability to compete in global markets.

The high level of demand for Pre-Formed Windings products means that the new production area is already in use. The official opening was performed on Thursday 11th September, by Deritend Industries MD, Richard Hale. Unveiling a plaque to commemorate the occasion, Mr Hale said that: "In today’s depressed economic climate it is more common to hear about company closures and cut backs, than new investment initiatives. That's why our expansion is good news for British engineering; it proves that growth under difficult market conditions is still possible."
