Electric dream

The Renault-Nissan Alliance has teamed up with Netherlands-based vehicle management company, LeasePlan, to promote the use of electric cars in the global market.
The collaboration will see the two groups explore ways to encourage zero-emission mobility and investigate a commercial approach toward corporate fleet customers. Under the agreement, the vehicles will be supplied by the Alliance for use by LeasePlan’s customers.
Vahid Daemi, chief executive at LeasePlan, said: ‘With the increasing awareness of environmental issues, company car drivers tend to change their behaviour in the way they select their car and in the way they drive. This project with the Renault-Nissan Alliance perfectly fits with the strategy we embarked on with GreenPlan as part of our overall efforts in the field of social responsibility.’
Eric Nicolas, senior vice-president of Nissan International, said: ‘LeasePlan’s commitment to reducing CO2 emissions is the perfect match to create the conditions for zero-emission mobility.
