EnerMech, the Aberdeen-based mechanical services group, has announced the acquisition of Bjørge ASA’s crane division at
The value of the contract has not yet been disclosed, but the deal will see EnerMech take over all contracts, equipment and personnel connected to Bjørge’s crane activities.
The new division, EnerMech A/S, will be managed by former crane activities head, Trond Møller. The company stated that the acquisition will not affect Bjørge’s existing contracts with Talisman, StatoilHydro and Teekay.
EnerMech managing director, Doug Duguid said: ‘From the outset we had identified Norway as a market with great potential for us and this acquisition is part of our long-term expansion strategy.
‘The deal gives us a serious presence in the Norwegian market and we plan to invest heavily in the business in the next few years, in terms of new facilities, equipment and people.’
EnerMech has a £30m funding package supported by equity firm Lime Rock Partners, Duguid and fellow directors Michael Buchan, Derek Grant and Phil Bentley. The company plans to make further acquisitions within the next two years.
