HUDDERSFIELD UNIVERSITY

The Engineering Control and Machine Performance Research Group at Huddersfield University, recently purchased a 6½ ton, five axis milling machine to develop revolutionary software to improve the accuracy of CNC machine tools by a factor of 10 to 1. The University is in collaboration with several aerospace companies including Lockheed Martin and BAE. The custom built Geiss machine tool is able to mill steel and cast iron as well as aluminium and plastic parts for various projects.
