Imperial Innovations invest in India

Imperial Innovations Group has announced that £1.5m of seed funding has been raised for intellectual property development company, i2india Holdings.

i2india, in which Imperial Innovations holds a 35 per cent stake, is a technology commercialisation and investment company focused on intellectual property developed in India.

‘India has many world class institutions,’ said Susan Searle, CEO of Imperial Innovations. ‘Scientific publications from Indian organisations are becoming increasingly influential outside India. i2india will help Indian institutes make the most of potentially valuable research and bring many positive benefits to the Indian economy.’

The funding was raised by a group of investors including Imperial Innovations, i2india’s chairman, Chris Mathias, and i2india’s advisory board members.

Searle joins the i2india board as a director alongside Mathias.
