The Indian Bosch subsidiary Kalyani Brakes and the Italian company Brembo are to establish a 50/50 13 million Euro joint-venture to design, produce and sell brakes for two-wheelers.

The new venture will make use of Kalyani Brakes’ existing two-wheeler brake production, while Brembo will contribute licences and technology.
The turnover for the first twelve months is forecasted at around 20 million Euros and is expected to double over the subsequent four years. Products are initially intended for the Indian market but the company will explore export potential in the near future.
The deal is subject to the final approval of the relevant Antitrust Authorities and Foreign Investment Promotion Board of India.
