are to establish a 50/50 13 million Euro joint-venture in India to design, produce and sell brakes for two-wheelers.

The joint-venture company, KBX Motorbike Products Private, will be headquartered in Pune to meet the growing demand for brake products in India. The Indian market is growing fast, with some 6 million motorbikes sold over last 12 months.

The new venture will make use of Kalyani Brakes’ existing two-wheeler brake production, while Brembo will contribute licences and technology.

The turnover for the first twelve months is forecasted at around 20 million Euros and is expected to double over the subsequent four years. Products are initially intended for the Indian market but the company will explore export potential in the near future.
