JJH Capital orders Embraer jets

JJH Capital has placed an order with Embraer worth $237m at list prices for six Embraer 195 jets, plus purchase options for another six aircraft.
The jets will be flown by a new carrier called Universal Airlines, which will serve domestic and intra-European network routes. The airline was recently created by Juan Jose Hidalgo, owner of JJH Capital and president of Air Europa and Globalia.
‘For short and medium haul lower density routes, the Embraer 195 offers much more advantageous costs than any conventional single aisle aircraft, without compromising efficiency or passenger comfort,’ said Hidalgo.
The first delivery of the single-class 122-seat jets is scheduled for May 2008.
