Life Pebble monitors vital signs

Toumaz Technology has developed the Sensium Life Pebble for physiological monitoring in assisted living, rehabilitation and professional sports applications.

Toumaz Technology has announced the availability of its Sensium Life Pebble for physiological monitoring in assisted living, rehabilitation and professional sports applications.

Based on the company’s wireless Sensium technology, the Life Pebble is a low-power device that attaches to the body to continuously monitor common vital signs such as heart rate, skin temperature and physical activity.

The information is then sent to a Sensium USB Network Adapter to provide an electronic health record for healthcare professionals. Using this data, the device can be adapted to suit the patient's specific health requirements.

Keith Errey, chief executive and co-founder of Toumaz Technology, said: 'Sensium is now being validated as a technology capable of delivering medical devices that provide clinical quality data but in form factors that offer the look, feel and experience of consumer products.'
