Lockheed boosts missile programme

The US Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) has awarded contracts worth $556m to Lockheed Martin for hardware and services for the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) missile programme.
The contract covers the production of 148 PAC-3 missiles, 17 launcher modification kits, spares, and program management and engineering services. Furthermore, Lockheed Martin will upgrade all the army’s Patriot fire units to enable them to fire the PAC-3 missile.
Deliveries made under the contract terms are scheduled for completion by July 2010.
