Both projects are being managed by global leader in rock and mineral processing equipment, Metso Minerals (UK) Ltd.

Metso project manager Chris Weeks, who has been specifying Flender gear units for 25 years, confirmed the Flender FZG’s reputation was a major influencing factor:

“It has proven to be a reliable and economical unit, and in combination with a Siemens drive fully meets our requirements.”

The largest of the two projects is at Qinhuandao, with the other project at Rizhao. Flender FZG units were first specified at Rizhao in 1984 – and are still operating on the existing dumpers and railcar marshalling systems. The current expansion project began in 2004 and will be completed early in 2006.
