Partners set to drive autonomous vehicle development in the UAE

Bayanat and Oxa have announced a new partnership aimed at advancing the development and deployment of autonomous vehicle solutions in the UAE and beyond.

Oxa/Bayanat

The partnership will leverage Abu Dhabi-based Bayanat’s AI-powered geospatial analytics and expertise in running autonomous vehicles and Oxa’s autonomous vehicle technologies, to ultimately create solutions for smart cities and autonomous transportation systems.

The partnership was announced on June 13, 2024 during a visit by Bayanat and the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) to Oxa’s headquarters in Oxford.

This collaboration is supported by the ADIO under its Smart and Autonomous Vehicle Industry (SAVI) cluster, which it said underscores the UAE’s commitment to fostering innovation and technological advancement.

Abu Dhabi’s SAVI cluster was launched in 2023, creating a smart and autonomous vehicles hub in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to promote significant contributions across air, land and sea mobility applications.

The initiative aims to support innovation and the commercialisation of smart and autonomous vehicle technologies in the UAE by providing facilities and value-added services within a regulatory environment.
