Pola power

Texas Instruments has announced its first 2.25A and 3A non-isolated, plug-in power modules that use its Auto-Track sequencing technology.

The POLA-compatible 2.25-A PTH08000W and 3-A PTH04000W plug-in power modules support an adjustable output voltage range down to 0.9V at a power conversion efficiency up to 94%.

The flexible converters' unique Auto-Track sequencing feature allows the outputs of multiple modules to track one another or a common voltage during power-up and power-down transitions.

The PTH08000W operates at input voltages from 4.5V to 14V, and can supply an output current of up to 2.25A with output voltages of 5.5V to 0.9V, making it ideal for systems that use a 12-V intermediate distribution bus.

The 3A PTH04000W module supports input voltages from 3V to 5.5-V, and can support output voltages from 0.9V to 3.6V.

Both modules include several power protection features, including an on/off inhibit and thermal shutdown, overcurrent protection and under-voltage lockout.
