Siemens has developed a mobile phone with a built-in projector that can project an entire keypad or display on to a surface.
The projector system can be used to give presentations and slide shows.
The system uses a semiconductor laser that emits monochrome light to project a real-time image of the display.
The image can be projected on to a surface in front of the phone or on to a wall.
A special pen will enable users to write on the virtual keypad or operate the functions.
When the user types with the pen on the projected screen, sensor technology, combining ultrasound and infrared, recognises the pen’s position.
The pen includes a microphone and speaker so it can also be used for conversations.
Signals are transmitted via Bluetooth.
