Routine maintenance has just been carried out on Flender’s gear units at Ovenden Moor Wind Farm, near Halifax, where 23 units have just completed 108,000 hours’ service.

, where 23 units have just completed 108,000 hours’ service. The examination revealed wear on only two of the gear units, while bearing maintenance has been carried out on seven units in the last three years. The units were found to have stood up well to the rigours of 24-hour use. A superior design has minimised long-term wear.
