Seepex progressive cavity pumps have replaced unreliable, high maintenance diaphragm pumps at Californian water treatment plants for the pumping, metering and dosing of NaOCL solutions. Four years on the seepex PCP pumps used for NaOCL and NH3 metering have proved virtually trouble free and highly economical. Following this initial success, Zone 7’s Water Facilities Supervisor explored and then commissioned PCP pumps for metering a chloramine solution at the Companies wells. Alameda County now has 19 seepex metering pumps in their district with further pumps planned for the future.
