Severn Trent selects Alfa Laval for service

Under the terms of an agreement which came into force earlier this year, Alfa Laval will service and maintain all of the decanter centrifuges used by Severn Trent Water to dewater sewage sludge in its sewage treatment works.
This represents a major advance in the relationship between Alfa Laval and Severn Trent Water. Previously, Alfa Laval had maintained and serviced all of their own brand decanters at Severn Trent Water sites while other major brands were maintained and serviced either by the original manufacturers or by agents. Alfa Laval won the new contract in a competitive bid situation with other major manufacturers and an independent service specialist.
Following the implementation of the Performance Agreement, Alfa Laval has now assumed responsibility for 80 decanters in 83 different locations. The contract covers regular quarterly site visits to monitor the decanters, identify any necessary maintenance and carry out repairs or provide replacements to keep them operating at maximum efficiency.
