Siemens to supply switchgear
Siemens has been awarded €50 million to expand the power supply network in the United Arab Emirates.
As part of a program to expand the power supply network in the United Arab Emirates,
(PTD), Erlangen, Germany, is setting up six 132 kV and 11 kV transformer substations.
The order has come from the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), one of the major power suppliers in the region, and is worth close to €50 million. Commissioning of the transformer substations is scheduled for May 2006.
The scope of supply for the six turnkey projects includes gas-insulated 132 kV high-voltage switchgears and 11 kV air-insulated switchgears. Siemens is also supplying and installing 50 MVA power transformers, control and protection equipment, network control centres and telecommunication facilities.
