Newbury Park, CA-based

has been awarded a $3 million order for its zNose electronic sensor system – a unit that can capture and analyse nearly any odour, fragrance, or chemical vapour within ten seconds.

The systems are expected to be used by UK-based International Security Systems for security applications.

A new type of ultra-fast gas chromatograph, the zNose is able to perform analytical measurements of volatile organic vapours and odours with part per trillion sensitivity and vapour concentrations spanning 6+ orders of magnitude.

The order from the UK comes less than ten days after the company was awarded a $1.25 million order for zNose units from Beijing R&D Technology, based in China.

The new order increases the Company's backlog to nearly $5 million.
