Supporting SMart munition

Surrey-based systems engineering consultancy firm Frazer-Nash has won a contract to support the development of the Sensor Fuzed Munition for the Artillery (SMart) munition for the Ministry of Defence.

The contract is with Gesellschaft für Intelligente Wirksysteme (GIWS), the German company developing the new SMart munition for the MoD. The new munition is said to enhance the military’s artillery ability to hit targets over long ranges.

Frazer-Nash will provide programme management services covering safety inspection work and an environmental audit through the life of the munition and at its disposal.

The contract is scheduled for completion in December 2010.
