Tatarstan buys Bombardier jets

Tatarstan Airlines has placed a firm order with Bombardier Aerospace for six Bombardier CRJ900 regional jets and has taken options on four additional CRJ900 aircraft.

Tatarstan Airlines operates from Kazan, in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, a republic in west-central Russia at the confluence of the Volga and Kama rivers.

The contract value, based on CRJ900 aircraft list prices, is approximately $217m. This order brings to a total of 181 the number of Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft now ordered by, or are in service with, various airlines.

Subject to certification by the Russian authorities, the CRJ900 aircraft will operate from Tatarstan Airlines’ home base in Kazan.
