Metronet has awarded Thales a £10m contract to supply a London underground depot with a new modular interlocking system to improve signalling control.
The LockTrac 6172 PMI will allow the Neasden depot to set and confirm routes, manage train movement within the depot and control and monitor signalling assets.
Paris' metro network, RATP, has already deployed the interlocking system, which will be installed as an overelay to the existing infrastructure at the Neasden depot.
The system is expected to become effective from late 2009.
