The Allen-Bradley 193-ENT Communication Module
The Allen-Bradley 193-ENT Communication Module for standard overloads, takes Ethernet/IP connectivity to a whole new level
Up until now, Ethernet/IP has been the province of large, expensive top-end motor protection devices. The new Allen-Bradley 193-ENT communication module for standard overloads extend this increasingly popular network option down to plant level; on motors from fractional horse-power up to 800A FLC.
The E1 Plus EtherNet/IP side mount module extends the capabilities of the basic, low-cost E1 Plus overload relay by providing motor diagnostic information (such as running current & thermal utilisation) via EtherNet/IP to various Allen-Bradley controllers. In addition to its communication capabilities the side mount module has 2 discreet inputs and 1 relay output, these can be used to support local control & signalling functions. As well as acting as a conventional overload relay, the module offers additional motor protection functionality including overload/underload warning and jam protection. Built in web-server functionality enables users to read real-time data and configure the device via the PLC or by using a standard web browser.
In addition, the 193-ETN module can independently alert maintenance personnel when a motor event is about to occur, or has occurred, by sending an e-mail or text message directly from the module’s own web-server via a simple mail transfer protocol (SMTP).
