The Engineer's 2025 salary survey reveals mixed picture on UK engineering pay levels

Despite increasingly intense competition for skills across all sectors of industry and a growing appetite amongst engineers for a new challenge, engineering salaries appear to have stagnated over the past 12 months.

This is just one of the key findings of The Engineer’s tenth annual salary survey, which is published in full on The Engineer’s website in a new interactive digital format. 

Attracting responses from 621 engineers working across 12 different sectors, this year’s survey was carried out between December 2024 and January 2025.

As ever, the results provide a fascinating insight into UK engineering salaries and how engineers are feeling about their careers. What’s more, by comparing this year’s results with earlier survey findings we’re able to see how these attitudes and metrics have shifted over the past decade.
