UK industry in danger of flushing money & reputation down the drain

Colin Worthington, a general manager at Wheelabrator told a waste management seminar that many companies using surface preparation equipment were failing to comply with UK legislation by flushing contaminated machine effluent down the drain. Metal finishing equipment is used in a variety of sectors from aerospace to medical industries. Mr Worthington warned delegates that all industrial users of the equipment must apply for official consent from the local water authority to discharge to drain.
