UKFirst offers team leader training

Stevenage-based ukfirst, established by FIRA (Furniture Industry Research Association), with support from the DTI, to assist

furniture organisations to achieve world class performance has delivered a five day team leader training programme for first line managers.

Aimed at first line managers working in the timber or furniture related industries, the course has been developed to help direct and non-direct supervisory staff in the skills of effective line management and takes best team leader practices and applies them to the industry.

The programme provides a mixture of academic and practical training which enhances communication skills, helps with target achievement, team working and continuous improvement strategies.

John Baldwin, Programme Director for ukfirst comments: “The five day course encourages people to learn, improve and apply new management and lean skills, resulting in an increased output from their shop floor team and added value to their business. The workshop will boost delegates’ confidence and ability to lead people, while finding out how to put new process improvement techniques into action.”
