Westinghouse refuels Qinshan

Westinghouse Electric Company subsidiary PaR Nuclear has won a contract to provide refuelling equipment for new construction units at Qinshan in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />China. The equipment will be provided for Units 3 & 4 of the Qinshan Nuclear Power Phase II extension project. Qinshan is located in Haiyan county, Zhejiang province. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Westinghouse Electric Company subsidiary PaR Nuclear has won a contract to provide refuelling equipment for new construction units at Qinshan in China. The equipment will be provided for Units 3 & 4 of the Qinshan Nuclear Power Phase II extension project. Qinshan is located in Haiyan county, Zhejiang province. Financial terms were not disclosed.

 

PaR Nuclear, along with its in-country fabrication partner, Shanghai Crane and Conveyor Works (SCCW), will work together to provide the equipment over the next three years, with the first equipment deliveries scheduled for summer and autumn of 2007. The contract scope includes refuelling machines, fuel transfer systems, spent fuel handling machines, and auxiliary cranes for both units. Engineering design will begin immediately with manufacturing to start later this year.
