Feature, 19 May) you describe the Fast Reactor sphere as a monument to a technology whose time never came.
Perhaps in future it will be viewed as a monument to yet another opportunity lost to the UK. A month ago Toshiba celebrated opening its new sodium test loop at its Yokohama Complex with ambitions to commercialise a new fast reactor design by 2020 that would operate for 30 years without refuelling.
