Analog Devices at ISE 2020: Providing the DNA of Integrated AV Systems

Analog Devices’ (ADI) presence at the Integrated Systems Europe (“ISE”) 2020 Conference and Exhibition (Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 11 –14 February) will highlight the company’s key enabling technologies across a wide range of audio-visual applications, services and products.

ISE is the world’s largest event dedicated to the interests of professionals in audio visual systems integration. The AV technology sector is “home ground” for ADI, with its long history of innovation at the interface between the analogue and digital domains, and with its established expertise in all forms of signal processing.

Visitors to ADI’s stand (Hall 14/stand C170) will be able to view several demonstrations that will showcase contributions at the leading edge of areas such as audio-over-IP, DSP-audio system development, and voice-based system interfaces.

Audio over IP

Internet Protocol (IP) has become increasingly ubiquitous, with more and more signal types being routed using that standard. Synchronised Audio over IP is itself rapidly becoming a standard; the convenience and user-level-simplicity it offers demands integrated supervisory protocol software, plus audio signal processing, together with power provision over IP.  ADI has a complete solution for this space, using ARM processor cores for the protocol, SHARC cores to support audio processing, and employing ADI’s own power-over-Ethernet technology. Also incorporating memory and USB interfaces, ADI’s technology packages all of these elements into a single SoC (system-on-chip) device.

Flexible Audio Development Platform

High-end audio projects demand flexible and powerful development environments. A demonstration on the ADI stand will show how development and deployment of audio applications including effects processors, multi-channel audio systems, MIDI synthesizers, and many other DSP-based audio projects can be supported by the company’s SHARC Audio Module Platform with A2B Connectivity. Digital (ARM) cores, SHARC cores, memory, interfacing and everything else needed to map out a complete application, come in a board-level format together with code development environment and emulation.

Voice-based User Interfaces

Voice is increasingly seen as the user interface of the future for a plethora of applications across consumer, computing, automotive and appliance markets. Visitors to the ADI stand will be shown a demonstration exploiting the capabilities of a newly-released SigmaDSP Audio Processor. This device integrates powerful DSP capability with all features required for Voice-UI applications, for example, voice-detection and wake-on-keyword capability.

Analog Devices’ applications engineers will be available at stand 14/C170 to demonstrate the specific examples mentioned, and to discuss all aspects of AV Systems Integration design and development for home entertainment, high performance audio, and innovative video signal processing, drawing on the company’s decades of experience at fundamental technology and system level.

Integrated Systems Europe 2020 takes place at the RAI Centre, Amsterdam, from 11 to 14 February. The event site is here.
