In this video, the Israeli start-up’s CEO Omer Bar-Yohay and chief engineer Ofir Laor describe how 3D printing for rapid prototyping, tooling and end-use parts has allowed them to develop Alice, a unique design of electric-powered commercial aircraft.
Eviation’s Alice Commuter aircraft is being designed to carry nine passengers up to 1,000km at more than 240kts. It will use distributed propulsion with one main pusher propeller at the tail and two pusher propellers at the wingtips.
The company expects to begin flight testing in late 2018 with commercial availability slated for 2021.
