EADS strengthens links with Singapore

EADS has signed a contract research framework agreement (CRFA) with National University of Singapore (NUS) and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Nanyang Technological University (NTU).

Under the CRFA, NUS and EADS will be able to set up joint research collaborations, one of which is the Flow Control Project focusing on the study of flow control technologies for reducing drag around streamlined bodies, set up recently by NUS and Airbus.

The MoU will allow EADS to collaborate with NTU on aerospace topics, such as a project launched last month in which NTU will help to develop a helicopter airspeed sensor for Eurocopter, an EADS company.

In addition, EADS already sponsors overseas internships at many of its European research centres for NUS undergraduates, and has made funding available for the EADS Singapore TechMasters programme at NTU, awarding $5,000 scholarships for each of the six top-performing aerospace engineering students for the final year of their studies.
