GT Equipment Technologieshas signed a deal worth over $33 million with the Chinese firm
LDK Solar Hi-Techof Jiangxi to create a 75MW wafer fabrication turnkey line for solar energy applications.
The line is being produced by GT Equipment Technologies’ solar division – GT Solar Technologies.
The new line will allow LDK Solar to double its solar wafer capacity by October this year. The company expects to reach 200MW capacity by the end of 2006 to become one of the major suppliers worldwide.
LDK Solar Hi-Tech is a part of the Liouxin Group, a manufacturer of personal protective equipment, power tools and elevators with 12,000 employees.
