Fuel duty will come, and about time too. Engineers should be preparing, by reducing aviation's CO2 footprint, by developing alternative rapid long distance transport, and reducing everyone's need to travel through simple, efficient and immersive telecommuting.
If we are prepared we do not need to suffer the consequences of job losses in the aircraft factories, higher costs of business travel, or a ruined planet.
